There is a one star only because this form would not let me write this review without choosing a star. Kevin at The Rates Guy has had my money since March 2019. He has never provided proof of submission to the City of Jo'burg for my rates refund despite my numerous requests to do so. He has consistently messed me around with every possible excuse from : Council being offline, to load-shedding, to Council running month-end and nobody would be available for 2 weeks as a result, to the most recent excuse - COVID (how convenient - a new excuse for the repertoire), interspersed with periods of just not even replying to my emails. I was even told in October 2020 that they had paid me!!! But they could not provide any documentation to back this up. Another blatant lie. I was then asked earlier this year - after my review on Hello Peter - to resubmit all my documentation!! Gobsmacked. I have asked numerous times for a refund - this request is never acknowledged. I am over this run around. I will be taking this further - I told Kevin this last week, I yet again gave him a chance to provide proof of submission and he passed my request onto his sidekick Saki - for the 2nd time. Saki has never bothered to write to me AT ALL. Before I started this review I emailed Kevin again to say that what they are doing is nothing short of theft and that I would be telling everyone this. As a result another mail has just arrived from Kevin saying he has passed this on to Saki - and guess what Saki apparently only works Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just more delaying tactics. If I get proof of submission tomorrow, 5 October 2021, I will update this review.
Kevin simply does not care!! I paid him in March 2019 to get my refund from COJ for me as I was relocating provinces - 2yrs later and countless ignored calls, messages (and him at one point saying it was paid) - I still have nothing and am out of pocket. I have asked him to refund me so I can tackle COJ myself - nothing!! I have checked with transferring attorneys a number of times and they confirm no refund has been paid out. Kevin's total lack of professionalism and care makes me wonder if this is a legit business...?
