Faerie Glen, Pretoria East If I could give 0 stars, I would. I visited the shop for a new battery. There were two men there. The owner handled the business side, the other one tried to keep me occupied by talking nonsense about him feeling alone, because all his family is in Pakistan. The owner then told me he does not have a battery for my phone, but "his brother" from another shop will bring one and I must come back after an hour. They often spoke in their foreign language with one another and I was none the wiser... When I returned he was still waiting and I said I will wait there. The other man asked a lot of questions about my occupation and my husband's occupation. After waiting for half an hour, the other man slipped out and returned with a nattery which the owner immediately took out the package. I have requested a quote numerous times and were brushed off and side tracked. I asked again and the owner said "500". When he asked if I want a screen protector and back cover, I thought the cost can be too much... I paid with our credit card. The next day my husband asked me why I paid R5000 for my phone. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you - R5000 was taken and stupidly I did not check it there. I went back and confronted them. I asked for a detailed invoice and he wrote it as follows: Screen protector R758 Back cover R500 Battery R1900 Generic power cable R350 His labor of putting in the battery: R1000 I laid a complaint at the Ombudsman for Consumer Services of being over charged, and they have taken it up with the owner, pending the outcome. PLEASE, DO NOT SUPPORT THEM. In hindsight I would have done a few things differently, as I have since discovered I am not their first victim. They swindeld thousands of rands AND JUSTIFIED IT. My cellphone is a second hand older Samsung Note 20. They actually said: "You are rich, you have an expensive phone." I was blessed with this phone when my hubby got an upgrade from his employer. Just goes to show you how I have been played.
PAID FOR A DEEP CLEAN, but a received a substandard service and not at all what was promised on their Facebook page. The two cleaners were suppose to clean my house thoroughly by moving (movable) furniture, and clean underneath, take of knick knacks on tables wipe it, clean switches, window sills etc. They both worked extremely half. At a stage they were actively discussing something and when 15:00 came they got ready to leave without completing the service. Before that they were laughing and chatting, totally relaxed, not in the least worried they won't be finished and not discussing any concerns of an incomplete service with me. When they walked in I specifically mentioned they do not have to clean INSIDE the kitchen CUPBOARDS, I indicated it clearly when I took them through the house. I gave instructions about the stove and oven. In the end only the stove, microwave and oven was cleaned, and when I said, what about the rest, the answer was: you said we must not do the kitchen. What a lie! They left: the countertops, the window sills, the outside of the cupboards, the external shelves, the fridge - everything that was mentioned to be part of a deep clean on their FB. Did not clean under the microwave etc. They cleaned ONE window. Ironically they remembered well that I said not to clean THREE rooms. They had only two rooms and the living areas. They refrained to clean underneath my bedroom furniture, and just one small window sill in the whole house was wiped thoroughly. They cleaned the bathrooms and stoops well enough, therefore 2 stars. The one, Lainah, rushed through everything in the beginning and then both Patricia and Lainah started to work slower and slower from 12:00, because they were leaving promptly at 15:00. They left many dusty/dirty surfaces behind. I contacted their employer, Letta Mothoa and asked her why the windows were left dirty when she clearly promises on her FB page quote "we never leave work incomplete" unquote. What a lie. When I asked Lainah what about the windows, when they were leaving, she gave me a snotty answer :"you will have to book us again." With what money? I saved up to afford this service. At first Letta was understanding and accommodating, saying "it NEVER happened before". And she will send someone to complete the windows. But everything changed when I sent her about 12 pics of still dirty areas - all the switches, window sills, underneath furniture etc. She accused me of implying they have not cleaned at all, and I corrected her that I am complaining about substandard service. I clearly stated what was left incomplete. She was rude, saying they have fulfilled their service, apart from the windows, she will not give my money back (which I have not requested). No supervision. No integrity from the cleaners, an attitude from one cleaner and the owner and no respect. The cleaners **** to the owner, and she chose to believe and protect them and their shoddy work. I wanted her to do a spot check! Yes, she did want to send someone to clean the windows and Yes, I declined, after I heard it was Lainah, which I did not want on my premises again, hence my windows are still dirty out of own choice.
There were a bit of hickups in the beginning, but we received excellent service from the support team. My daughter (gr 11) loves the school and she has excellent teachers. Their online site, Canvas, is extremely user friendly. Parents have direct access to the child's profile, classes, marks, schedule and teachers. The students have direct access to each of their teachers. Hats 9f to a group of creative, excellent teachers who are making school interesting and fun.
