Booked my car in for a service on 21/07/2025 at Car Service City Lynnwood as I had read good reviews about them so decided to try them only to be extremely disappointed later that same day. I was asked if there is anything additional to the service that must be checked there were 2 things 1 the airbag light was on on the dashboard and 2 there was a squeak on my clutch pedal when depressed. So I dropped a fully functional/driving car off just after 7am and got a phone call from Nico(Workshop Manager) later that morning with extra parts that needed replacement I declined and said just do the service and check the squeak and airbag light. I was told the squeak on the clutch was gone and airbag light reset, but the clutch was rebled as the car didn't want to go into gear Nico said they didn't open anything on the clutch, but needed more adjustment for the clutch to engage and said they will have to open up the clutch and gearbox to see what the problem is which will cost me around R3000 labour.which I declined So I tell him but you've done something wrong my car was working 100% when I brought it to you in the morning but now it doesn't go into gear or even start and he denies that the clutch was opened and says they do business honestly. So by now I am beyond cross and arrange a tow truck(at my own expense) the next morning to collect my car and take it to another mechanic I've used before in Centurion to fix there mistake. The other mechanic initially battled to start the car but succeeded and sorted out the clutch although I only got my car back on the Friday at least it was fixed. Laid a complaint with head office and they say I was phoned to say the car was ready for collection (which is a total llie as the car was not working) and they are not at fault as I declined for them to look into the matter further and had my car towed to a 3rd party to be fixed. Sharing this so someone else doesn't land up in a similar situation.
I dealt with Adam Sekgabi regarding an insurance claim for a stolen bicycle. Adam was very efficient in handling the claim and kept me informed with phone calls on the outcome of the claim. Great service
