UPS Delivery SHOCKING
Most shocking service ever received. We had an urgent parcel we needed shipped from the UK. UPS UK assured us it would be in Stellenbosch by the 17 Feb. We shipped it on the 13th Feb. It arrived in Kempton Park on the 16 at 18h00. We never received any info until the Tuesday 18th at 12pm when we were told we needed to enter ID number for the receiver. Within 5 mins I had done that. Still nothing received. I called the next morning (Wednesday) to be told my info hadn't pulled through and it would have to be done manually. The employee did it manually for me and within 5 minutes I had an email saying I needed to pay import duties. Within another 5 minutes I paid the duties with my credit card and received the receipt of payment. Still no update on the parcel. I phoned again on Wednesday afternoon to find out the status of my order and to be told nothing had happened it was not on customs to release the package. So patiently I called again this morning (Thursday) that the package still hadn't been released and they couldn't give me an ETA it was now just a waiting game. I begged them to please see if they could expedite somehow and they said they can email but couldn't promise anything I would just have to wait. They then said that if it did happen to get released today we might get it tomorrow in Cape Town. So my son could go fetch it if he needed it. I find this absolutely shocking. You phone and beg and plead with people to please help you and you ask them what has gone wrong and they actually do not care about you or your parcel. they are just there doing a job they clearly do not care about. My son is desperately needing this package by tomorrow evening for a lecture and it's now going to cost him in more ways than one. We only used UPS as they assured us the parcel would reach us with days to spare but it gets to Jhb and the incompetence is just next level. I'm surprised anyone even uses UPS as their delivery turnaround time is pathetic. I am highly irritated that its now been sitting in Kempton Park for more days than it actually took the parcel to travel from the UK to Jhb. Clearly no one will be held accountable and it doesn't actually bother them cos the outcome doesn't affect them. If you are going to charge exhorbitant delivery fees and give promises to clients that you can deliver within a few days then thats one thing. But when you charge exhorbitant rates and still don't care about a time factor then thats an absolute tragedy.
