And then one day, amidst a rather dark period in your life, you (serendipitously) meet a man who is kind, gentle and caring (and who loves gardening as much as you do), and this man patiently restores your self confidence, your smile, and your gratitude for life. This man is my dentist, Dr Ismail Abrahams. My hero! :) I would 100% recommend him for any and all dental procedures. He has truelly changed my life.
I would strongly advise not supporting this business. The owner, Kathleen, is rude, wholly unprofessional and abusive to her staff.
I received a Logik food processor as a birthday gift about two months ago, and on the third use, the jug of the blender shattered at the bottom. LUCKILY I wasn't working with liquids at the time, as we all know that liquid and electricity is a massive SAFETY HAZARD! There is no way to contact Logik and get a replacement, even though they FALSELY claim that your appliance comes with a two year warranty. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON LOGIK!!! It's plastic ****.
It's been almost two years, but this is something I feel that I need to get off my chest. So, here goes: When I first went for a consultation with Dr Callie Passano from Ideal Dental in Weltevreden Park, I thought that I had finally found a reliable and trustworthy dentist. He was friendly, and seemed professional. Now, by the time I went to see him, my mouth was a hot mess. A previous dentist had failed to clean my tooth properly before putting in a filling, and two years down the line, this had resulted in monthly absecces, monthly prescriptions of antibiotics, and needless to say, excruciating pain. By the time I got to Dr Passano, I was beyond desperate. Which is why, when he suggested that we pull at least 6 of my (mostly front) teeth, I didn't even hesitate. Do whatever needs to be done - anything to take away the constant pain. It turns out that the abscess had spread from one tooth, to most of my teeth. It was HORRIFIC. Let me also just be clear that under normal circumstances, I would not have been able to afford the R800 consultation fee, and would have gone to a more affordable dentist, but I had just managed to pay off my credit card, and this is something that had to be done. And stupidly enough, I figured a more expensive dentist would be better at his job? I mean, why else would he be able to charge such exorbitant fees, right. So, I accepted Dr Passano's quote (over R20,000), and we went ahead and pulled my teeth. I already had a mouth plate at this stage with one tooth, and he suggested they use the same plate, and just add two extra teeth. So, not even to replace all of my now missing teeth, mind you. Anyway, figuring that the professional knows best, I agreed to it all. The extraction was painful and traumatic. Losing not one, but six teeth in one go, has not only a physical effect, but a mental and emotional one as well. But, I was relieved when it was all over. My worries were finally over, right? Uhm, no. They were actually just beginning. I followed Dr Passano's instructions to the tee, and yet regardless of this, all of the gaps got infected. I had to then go back to Dr Passano. So, a couple of thousand rand more, and THE most painful experience later - for which he prescribed PANADO! Luckily the chemist was kind enough to give me Mybulen - I figure we are now finally done, right?! Errr, nope again. As it turns out, the mouth plate does not fit at all. I cannot wear it. I have not smiled with my mouth open, or laughed, or eaten properly, in almost two years now. My self-confidence is completely shattered. Not only that but - the tooth that I originally went to him with, is still in my mouth, causing endless problems. For some or other godforsaken reason, he didn't remove the PROBLEM TOOTH. And not only that, but all of my exposed teeth are starting to detoriate now as well, causing me endless issues and pain. Why didn't I just go back, and let him fix it? Well, simply put, a lack of money. I simply couldn't afford the consultation fee and extra charges again, and my credit card was now maxed out. And due to the fact that I lost my job due to Covid, it still is. So, thanks to Dr Passano, I now have less teeth, no confidence, and a ****-load of debt that I cannot possibly pay off. I'm sure others might disagree, but this is my exceptionally ****py experience that I had with Dr Callie Passano. Perhaps, in my humble opinion, he should care a tad more about his patients, as opposed to the lavish holidays he'll be taking with their money. I would suggest DEFINITELY NOT going to this dentist.
