Food hampers decline..dont publicize when you can't assist?

Disappointed as i requested assistance for food hampers as i have 2 elderly people in my home and my son was tested positive for Covid, i had no money to buy any food to help us get through this . My husband and daughter lost their jobs due to covid and the unrest. Dont see why they be given so much publicity for when people are desperate and left on their knees without assistance is a huge disappointment, I only asked as we are going through a really hard time and having a covid patient that needed to be taken care of with some sort of food. It saddens me to see why was it so hard just to help a family out for atleast a meal. To be turned down was something i didn't expect and really disappointed.
