I purchased a Fiat 500X from WeBuyCars Richmond on 26 February 2025. Just 12 days later, on 10 March, the car broke down with multiple engine failure warnings and had to be towed to the Fiat repair centre. Since then, it’s been a nightmare of silence, avoidance, and shady behaviour. Despite our immediate reports, countless emails, and phone calls, no one followed up, we never heard from anyone at the Richmond branch again. The person assigned to our case, Carin Dreier, ignored every single email from us and if we were lucky to get through on the phone all she would say is "it's been escalated". WeBuyCars then tried to collect the broken car from the Fiat repair centre without informing us. When the repair shop refused to release the vehicle, Carin finally called and followed up with an email throwing a tantrum, demanding to collect the car and claiming we owed a "release fee" (which the repair shop confirmed does not exist). That’s how we learned, for the first time, that we were getting a refund. They refused to provide anything in writing, no confirmation of the refund, no timeline, not even banking details requested. We were just expected to “trust” them and hand the car over. We eventually had to hire a lawyer. On their advice, we held onto the car until we had a written commitment. Carin refused to speak to our lawyer, saying their “legal department” would make contact. She then proceeded to send a flurry of emails asking when they could collect the car, despite claiming she doesn’t deal with lawyers. To this day, their legal department has still not contacted us directly. Our lawyer eventually got hold of Mr. Hannes Bouwer, the national head of complaints, who casually told us they needed to collect the car to “put it back in dealer stock and sell it.” This is after they deemed the car not viable to repair and refused to fix it. In other words, they are knowingly reselling a car with a blown cylinder. As of 17 April 2025, the same vehicle is listed for sale on their website with a gold rating and a glowing DEKRA report: 👉 https://www.webuycars.co.za/buy-a-car/Fiat/500x/D1A907948 On our lawyer’s advice, we released the car once Hannes committed to refunding us within 2–3 business days. That was the only time WeBuyCars actually did what they said they would and we received our refund. After more than a month of struggling. My issue isn’t just that the car broke after 12 days, although that was a disaster. The real problem was how WeBuyCars handled it: ❌ No apology ❌ No communication ❌ No accountability ❌ Stonewalling at every turn ❌ No assistance, like towing the faulty vehicle or offering a courtesy vehicle And that’s not even touching on the highly ********* decision to resell a car they know is faulty. If you're considering buying from WeBuyCars, be warned: There is no accountability once you’ve signed. Once finance is approved, your salesperson acts like you don't exist any longer, they didn't even bother to clean the car before handing it over. Faulty vehicles are knowingly resold. Their after-sales service is non-existent unless you get a lawyer involved. You may end up paying for a car that doesn’t work, with no support and no way to get your money back without a fight. Consumers deserve better.
Do not ever more homes when you are with RSAweb because you will be charged twice. I moved on the 1st of June and ever since then it has been a nightmare to the point where I now cancelled with RSAweb and moved to a different provider. Accounts are paid in advance so on the 29th of May, I paid my usual amount for June. Then on the 5th of June I received another bill. I informed RSAweb that I had paid already for June. I was ignored by their accounts department and sent more notices that I need to pay. I was billed for June again for the new address. Plus a delivery fee??? I did not receive anything as I just used the modem that I already had. I was told that I was charged pro-rata for June, nevermind the fact that I paid in full already for June. Trying to explain this to the accounts department is futile. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing in this company. So my advise, if you plan on moving. Just cancel your service completely (be sure to do this way in advance because otherwise you will still be billed).
I have been aware of Healing Hands for a long time and have always wanted to do a course through them but could never afford it. I finally managed to get my finances in order to be able to take up one of their special offers and registered and paid for 3 courses. These were all correspondence and I was very excited. My review is based on correspondence/self-study courses, I am not sure what they are like when you actually go to classes. I started with the "counseling" course. I am very disappointed in this course. Firstly it is not a counseling course, in the fine print, it says it's a life coaching course. Sadly, however, it is also not that. I would say this course is at best an introduction to eclectic psychological principles. The course material is extremely dated and difficult to read as if it was written by someone who time-traveled here from the 18th century. I learned more about life coaching from the internet than this course taught me. It gives a basic overview of different types of psychological principles and schools of thought but does not teach you anything about life coaching. Also, if you dig deep enough into their website, you will learn that the claim that all the courses are "internationally recognized" is not entirely true. There is absolutely no accreditation or recognition by any official body for any of their courses. I now have to pay for another life coaching course to get actual accreditation and to learn more. For someone who doesn't take the initiative to expand their studies and rely solely on the information given in this course would be less than ideal in the real world. I would not recommend anyone to take this course if they want to be a counselor or life coach. Aromatherapy: I have worked through the workbook I was sent for this course and am ok with it. It gives a good overview of Aromatherapy oils, history, uses etc. The massage module is lacking, however. There are no accompanying videos or anything showing technique or correct protocols. The pictures in the workbook are low res and the size of a passport photo so not helpful. I would recommend this course if you want to know more about Aromatherapy, it's a good starting point. But further study would definitely be required especially if you would want to offer aromatherapy massage to clients. Herbalism: I haven't really gone into much detail yet with the course material, but it seems good. As with all these correspondence courses, the course material is a bit dated so further self-study would be needed if one is serious about the subject. It provides a good starting point however so if you have the cash to burn and you want a basic understanding I would recommend it. All in all my experience from a client/student perspective has been meh. The communication is extremely formal, so you never feel quite welcome. Things aren't clearly communicated and there are delays in getting a response (unless there is an invoice involved). The way things are done and the course material is dated, so if you are ok with that then it's not a problem. I haven't done the exams yet for any of these courses because I feel like, what's the point even. The courses are also not "internationally recognized" as stated so keep that in mind. All in all, personally I am disappointed with the experience. I wasted a lot of time on the counseling course specifically seeing as though I now have to pay and spend time to do another life coaching course to be accredited and time is precious! Lesson learnt!
