We have been renting for just over a month now. Before we signed the contract it was all smiles and being friendly. Since we moved in, with the first call I made, the agent’s attitude and voice changed. All of a sudden, not greeting, saying my name in sigh as if he knows I’m going to ask something that’s going to cause him having to lift a finger and do some work. Empty promises and excuses. He promised to get the place neat for us to move into. It took them not even 3hours, on inspections it was only cleaned and not made neat as he promised (carpet is heavily stained, cracks in walls and tiles, grouting of kitchen and bathroom very dirty and stained, which he also said will be done over again). Really doing things in an unprofessional manner, like messages giving you your amount to pay at the end of the month, then after payment they realise they never took the digits at the water meter and sends another message with the same amount (that’s already paid) + the water bill. When called just to confirm, the agent treats you as if you are going to refuse to pay or like a criminal, not even apologising for their lack of communication and tardiness (sorry for this, but that’s the word that better fits the situation). I asked him if I can get the details of the owner of the place, he immediately replies asking regards to what, not even greeting me. I’ve sent him a voice note saying I think we will have better luck getting the place more neat if we arrange things personally because I don’t think he has time (because it’s been 4 weeks of empty promises and not getting back to met about cupboards and a tap outside). He simply just does not reply. Anyone have any advise?
