I stayed at Eden on the Bay 68B and was left very disappointed. The main issue was that the door could be accessed from the outside without a key or code, which is a serious safety concern. I reported this and was told it would be logged as “high priority” with their operations team and that a maintenance technician would be dispatched. However, this did not give me confidence that the issue would be resolved during my stay, and it felt like an empty promise. When I requested to move to alternative accommodation (and even offered to pay the difference), my request was declined. Instead, I was told that my booking was confirmed in their system and that if I chose not to stay, all funds would be forfeited. I found this response very disappointing, especially since safety should come before policy. In the meantime, I was advised that “the windows can be opened for fresh air,” which completely missed the point of my concern. I did not feel safe coming and going from the property, and we were forced to carry our belongings up and down stairs each time, as leaving them inside felt too risky. Overall, the way the matter was handled left me very dissatisfied. Safety issues were brushed aside by policy, and guest well-being was not prioritised. For this reason, I strongly recommend avoiding any accommodation managed by Host Agents Holiday Rental Management, as well as any and all properties under their management.
I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with FinChoice. I app**** for an emergency loan, which was approved with the promise that the funds would be paid within 24 hours. Despite multiple confirmations via SMS and email, I was kept waiting over two days due to “unforeseen circumstances,” even though FinChoice kept insisting the funds had been sent. The situation only got worse as I was given inconsistent information from customer support—one moment they claimed the payment was already made, and the next, they admitted the payment had “failed” and was only resent after I followed up again. Instead of a clear, straightforward proof of payment, I was sent an account statement with conflicting dates, which only added to the confusion. This loan was meant for an urgent need that has now passed due to these delays. I’ve had to make alternate arrangements and certainly won't recommend FinChoice to anyone seeking quick or reliable financial assistance. Their lack of urgency, poor communication, and unreliable processes make them a terrible option for emergencies. If you’re looking for dependable service, I’d strongly advise going elsewhere.
I urge anyone thinking of using Thrifty Car hire to never do so as you will be ripped off by them. I booked an paid for a vehicle for unlimited km, and drove about 2000km, I then returned the car a day earlier and have been penalized, they say that I no longer qualify for unlimited km because I brought the car back a day earlier and now is billing me for 800km which is an additional R3000. I am beyond words and cannot believe they would rip people off like this. I have put in a complaint to their customer service and their response were as follows. "Due to the vehicle being returned a day earlier, you were only billed for 3 rental days thus meaning only 1200 kilometers included in your contract, therefore the additional kilometers have been billed. Unfortunately Thrifty Car Rental will not be able to waiver the kilometer's charged." This was never disclosed to me when I rented the vehicle over the phone and now I am being charged an additional R3000 for doing something that I thought a good thing bringing the vehicle back a day earlier. I am completely disgusted by their service and response on the matter.
