My mother passed away August 2024, the estate was finalised, in June 2025 out of the blue an unpaid account for SA Blood Bank pitched up from 2021. I submitted the authorisation details to SA Blood bank to resolve the issue. I also informed Bonitas and supp**** the documentation they requested. I received the response below , it does not resolve the query !!!!! As per usual very bad service delivery !!!! My mother passed a way in August 2024, four months after the death Bonitas send me an email to complete documents to refund the savings account, I completed the documentation and supp**** the documentation , to the best of my knowledge there is over R7000 on the savings balance, today 20.01.2025 after all the admin , Bonitas rep**** there is no refund
My mother for whom I paid the monthly premiums for years passed away on 29 August 2024. We did the correct thing by notifying Bonitas of the passing. I longed numerous enquiries regarding my mother’s physiothe****** fees not being paid while she was in hospital, having unlimited in hospital cover. The responses from the enquiries and claims department was that if they don’t care , it is absolute nonsense that they advertise they are there for you , I had to pay the physiothe******s out of my own pocket. I am sorry vir the tone of dissatisfaction in my post but I just had to get the disappointment with Bonitas.
Good day everybody Once again i have to take to social media to obtain assistance to resolve treatment claims, the previous one i reported here i just received a response of it will be paid as per scheme rules and none of it was paid , i understand there are rules but if my mother is on the highest scheme and she has unlimited in hospital cover why do i still receive invoices from doctors that has not been paid ? I pay R9,933.00 per month on behalf of my mother to be at the highest scheme plan at Bonitas , in December she was admitted to hospital for emergency treatment as she was bleeding internally and loosing blood at an alarming rate, wel to date i received invoices well over R20,000.00 that was not paid to Dr Scholtz and partners , now i have to pay because Bonitas refuses to pay ? This was not a routine checkup it was procedures done while in hospital .

Our past experience has been that we must first go via Hellopeter to lodge a complaint before we get proper attention to a matter and I therefore request assistance again, my critically ill mother was admitted to hospital being at the highest plan bonitas has she still had to pay in amounts while in hospital , a patient that could not speak for herself and we have no choice while she was in hospital what radiologists will be used at what rate . Can someone at Bonitas properly review claims cases 290922Q9D3KY AND 290922Q9DGH and determine if amounts are refundable to the member.
My mother is 76 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer , it was detected early and the oncologist considers the condition treatable and curable therefore making it a PMB condition that should cover her treatment inclusive of Specialised medicine. The feedback from Bonitas declined Herceptin as it is a specialist medicine, I appealed the decision and within a short time feedback was given same result, the manager didn’t even call me back after I requested it, it seems that there was a complete lack of consideration if there was merit to the case. In December 2021 my mothers treatment was started late as well due to admin error by oncology department recording our membership as terminated when it was not the case, I promised I will hold them accountable if something happens to my mother, after hours of telephonic engagement finally they saw the light and issued an authorisation number for cancer treatment, one would think they would have taken more care this time around when we applied for the Herceptin Very disappointed in treatment of the elderly and lack of consideration to the merit of the case Very disappointed in this lack of service,
Good day Joseph assisted me he was friendly and helpful, but I am sorry to say the price I paid seems excessive and that I wasn't properly quoted and I suspect an honest billing mistake I see you are charging R2799 for a explorer and installation package, so you will understand my shock why am I being charged R3074 for a smart lnb , dish move and 26m cable, it dit not make sense to me. I went online and then saw your package, deal which led me to investigate further. I was charged R1250 For a digital receiver that I could have bought at Ellies for R449, I was charged R375 for 26 m cable I could buy it at builders for +- R150, then I was charged R599 for installation, installation of what? I had my own small HD decoder the dish was already there and cables in place. See the invoice attached, I am not unwilling to pay but I have something against being taken for a ride, an honest billing mistake could have occurred but it is doubtful. Please review this and responde back to me. If a refund is due to me please let me know. I immediately told Joseph they don't have to return for further work at my house that would have occurred next week. My mother is 76 years old had a stroke, she broke her hip and recovered from pneumonia this year was the worst year, Bonitas assisted during the hospitalisation and was fantastic but the aftercare was not properly assisted to top it all off Bonitas did not even consider my mother's homecare by homecare nurse giving much needed care , exercise, assistance with physio therapy as prescribed by physiothe****** to assist with recovery, even motivational letters from a specialist and the stepdown facility were completely ignored and not even one cent was paid by bonitas for the homecare, didn't even phone the specialist did not properly consider my mother's case and claim I had to cough up as much as R10,000 a month for homecare and today to top it all off today when urgent assistance was required to process a script at Netcare pretoria east hospital pharmacy for dialysis treatment medicine, Bonitas was off-line I had to pay R2890 out of pocket....who has that type of money available??? I now only wait to receive anither rejection of a claim for payment by member its seems that is a standard response to just reject the claim.
