It is really difficult to find great service these days especially from a Government entity. Today I called Stats SA and spoke to a wonderful lady by the name of Bathabile Sindane, I hope I got her surname right. Bathabile was very polite, welcoming and efficient. She had answers for every question I had and she was also very informative. I would like to applaud her for her outstanding service. She is a gem!
Hello Peter, I have a reference number of the department of Home affairs which is 04001805483. I assisted my Aunt to apply for late registration of birth in 2016 and submitted the required documents to the Johannesburg Regional office. I waited for for their response which was not forthcoming. I went o them and they informed me that the application was suspended. I started the entire process again in 2018 and I'm disappointed that even today, My Aunt does not have any form of identification. I spoke to Mr Atwell Hola who is part of the leadership team in JHB and he informed me that he is aware of the issue. Now the problem is that no one is coming back to me. I even tried to speak to the Gauteng Acting Provincial Manager Ms Moroke who had the audacity to hung up on me. Today I spoke to their National Call Centre and they informed me that the file was not sent to them and there's nothing they can do. I'm so irate because of their incompetence. Please see below the email I I sent to atwell.hola@dha.gov.za who has not responded even after I sent him the copy of the email on this WhatsApp Good day, I trust this email finds you well. I wish I could say that I'm also well but it is with great regret that today has been more than 5 years of trying to have this issue sorted. It has taken alot of time , effort , patience and I must also admit that it has been a painful and expensive excersise. It would be amiss if I did not thank you for returning my call and ultimately sending me your email address. Thank you for keeping your word. I would have hoped that this issue would be resolved by now but I am still dealing with a situation where SHE still struggles to get her chronic medication, she can't vote or even get vaccinated. God forbid- What if she dies? Do you understand why this is important to me? Do you understand why I am tirelessly trying to have this issue sorted? I am sharing this with you so that you may understand where my frustration is coming from. I know there are processes to be followed and I respect that because I believe that I'm a reasonable person. But honestly, am I supposed to wait for a process that takes over 5 years? - Without any update and zero communication from your department. Is it fair ? I think not. I am astonished that you mentioned that you don't know where the file is whereas the file was left in your office. The fact that you don't remember that the file was left in your office and in your possession leaves a sour taste in my mouth. For me to establish communication with your provincial manager should indicate that I will go to any length to have this issue resolved. I have spoken to your Head Office and they told me that your department is the one that needs to have this issue sorted out after doing investigations- Remember it's been over 5 years now. I really do not want to deal with those ladies in 5th floor who actually pretend to know what they are doing . They have proven to be incompetent and I will have to deal with their incompetence later. Right now I am asking you to re-look at that file and update me on the way forward. I am sincerely asking you to come to my rescue , work tirelessly and assist me in this regard so that I may know that atleast there is 1 person in that office who actually gets their work done. Please see below the link to an article that was published about this issue in 2019. I have the names of everybody I have dealt with since 2016 which are available to you upon request. Hoping to get an update TOMORROW 22nd Sep 2021. Thank you kindly, Moeketsi Mokoena 0766606772 0608210929 https://www.citizen.co.za/news/2094537/home-affairs-intervenes-to-assist-hiv-positive-woman-get-id-for-antiretrovirals/
