I would like to formally lodge a complaint against your service at your Cape Town branch. I took my Gs 1200 in on Thu 23 Nov 2023 to have my fuel gauge problem sorted out. On Tuesday 28 Nov 2023 I phoned for an update and was told the bike was finished on Fri already and that I can come pick it up. I did not receive any communication from them about this and they never even apologised to me. After leaving work early and taking an Uber to town, I got there and the fuel gauge was still faulty. The mechanic told me he replaced the petrol pump that was under warranty, but did not know he was suppose to fix the actual problem. I told them to keep the bike and fix what still needed to be fixed and keep me updated. I then had to take an Uber home, which costed me R200. I also unnecessarily lost time at work. I phoned them Thursday and they said they will check on the progress and phone me back. I still haven't received an update and they said it will be done by Friday. Friday came and gone and still no word. I phoned on saterday and aparintly the service department don't work on saterday, but they said they will have a look and see if my bike is finished and phone me back. Needles to say that did not happen. I will have to take off again on Monday and go see what's up. 2 weeks later for a simple 2 day job, what a joke. To say I'm disappointed in BMW is an understatement. Now I would just like to know how much are they going to charge me for the work done seeing the first time was free because it was under guarantee. Due to their fault they had to strip it again to do a proper job, and now I will have to pay for there incompetence? All I want now is to just get my bike back and forget bmw Motorrad Cape Town ever existed.
