Worst service ever, definitely not deserving of the so called "4-stars". My mother took me for my 30th birthday, and The Beach Hotel contacted her to ask if she wanted to make special arrangements such as flowers, balloons, a cake etc to make the room look special for me. My mother made arrangements, and when we arrived nothing was in the room. They also said they usually do complementary platters for special occasions, which was also not in the room. My mom went to reception area to ask about it, and the lady said she is not aware of any balloons etc, but she knows the platter is done and it just needs to be taken to the room. They never brought it to the room. Needless to say, everyone my mom spoke to said they were never informed of any special arrangements, and the lady responsible kept avoiding us even though multiple people said they have escalated the matter to her. She eventually phoned my mother a week after the incident and confessed that she forgot. No sincere apology, no trying to make it up to us. The lack of service ruined the whole evening, and my mother also got food poisoning. The reception also could not advise where the closest place was for me to get medication for my mother, as she had been sick the whole night. I would have expected that the staff of a "4-star" hotel would be more knowledgeable about their surroundings. They simply did not care that their lack of attention to detail resulted in a bad experience for my 30th birthday. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

We have been struggling to get a refund from Builders since 9 October 2023. My mother ordered fencing, the website glitched and the order was not processed, however payment was taken (we have proof of payment). We have followed up multiple times, and have confirmation messages indicating that the money has been allocated to my mother's online profile (confirmation that you DID in fact receive the money) and that the refund request has been submitted. Everyone we have contacted says they will follow up and get back to us, which they are not doing. We also have not received any refund. A customer care agent then all of a sudden calls my mother and tries to pressure her into ordering/arranging delivery after "the forms have been submitted". Is there no communication between your different departments? We have asked to speak to management, but the same consultants respond to our queries and they are just stringing us along. Seems like the staff are running Builders Warehouse. You are sitting with my mother's money (R2200) and not giving it back. This is theft. For such a "big brand" your service is pathetic. In the meantime my mother is sitting with a dog next door who tries to jump over the wall to her side, and she cannot put up proper protection because of your lack of interest and poor customer service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING ONLINE FROM BUILDERS, AS THEY ARE QUICK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT AFTER-SALES SERVICE/CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT.
