After months of attempts to recover from the financial loss caused by Cupboard Trendz when they scammed me of my hard-earned money, I have finally gathered the strength to write this review to warn unsuspecting people who intend using them for cupboard and wardrobe installation services. In January 2021, I had just lost my employment and had to move into my newly-bought apartment. Part of the renovations was kitchen cupboard installation and a small two-door wardrobe. I had R28 000 on my savings and I shopped around for a company that could install these for an amount below R28 000. I eventually got hold of Heerasha who came to my place to take measurements. After paying the first installment, her team came to install some of the cupboards. When they had to install the stove and sink, I asked them to stop a bit as I had a few gigs that would pay me enough to buy these items. Thinking of how small businesses had struggled during Covid-19 and also from their pressure, I paid the balance then, not wanting to mess up their financials. I genuinely did not suspect anything amiss. So now they had their R28 000. After two/three weeks I bought the items and told Heerasha they may then come to complete the job. That was in March 2021 I stayed for about two weeks saying to myself it is only fair that I do not rush them to come complete the job because they probably have other projects they have started already and to first comolete them before returning to mine. It was me being considerate and thinking Heerasha and her husband are principled business people. After the two weeks, I got into a three-month everyday begging that they come complete the work. I phoned, texted, WhatsApped, and emailed. At first Heerasha would reply and make empty promises. Eventually she told me where to get off and said I needed to speak to her husband Avinash. The man was clear from the word-go that he does not care about my project. On our first call when I gave him an account of how unhappy I was, he let me speak and when I was done he asked: "Are you finished?". I said: "Yes" and he hung up. After that whenever I texted on WhatsApp he would say: "I am coming tomorrow"; "The weather is bad"; "We are moving factory so we are curently busy"; "My staff is mostly absent on Monday".....a series of lies I later found out he also tells and had told to other people whom they have scammed. After a month of no communication, Avinash phoned me and said his guys were going to come assess what is left to be done. Two men camethe next day and they said Avinash had instructed them to take from my place my stove, my sink (both which I had bought outside of the R28k) and the counter tops so they may do the cutting in their factory. Having seen how unethical Avinash and his wife Heerasha are, I refused. I phoned Avinash and told him they may come cut at my place as they did the first time. I am glad I did that because clearly they were going to run away, not only with my hard-earned money but also my kitchen items and the countertops they had already left at my place. One day I Googled "Cupboard Trendz" and a can of worms burst open. I realised I was not the first or the only one they had stolen from. Scores of people in different platforms were warning everyone of these scammers. Sadly on the company's Facebook page when you make a comment exposing their criminality, they quickly remove the comments and block you as they have done to me. I eventually had to accept that Avinash and Heerasha had scammed me, they were unapologetic, and had to accept and move on. I urge everyone out there not to dare come near anything that has "Cupboard Trendz", "Heerasha", and "Avinash". I also challenge Avinash and Herasha to take legal actions against me if they plead innocence in all that I have written here. I know there are attempts from many people who have been scammed to expose these people, I am more than willing to be a part of that, and I will share my story.
