On 2024/05/04, I was at the Vodacom Greenstone store, where I was sold an LTE home internet contract. During this process, a network coverage check was never done. I had the product for a few months and it never worked, at all. I escalated the issue to the store and they put me in contact with their network coverage department. This department confirmed that there is no coverage in my area and I could either cancel the contract, free of charge, or migrate to fibre. I chose to migrate to fibre. I was then transferred to the fibre department and the contract was taken out. They confirmed that once the fibre was active the LTE would be cancelled. After all was installed and working I contacted the fibre department again to cancel the LTE, they told me they are not able to assist as the lady that took my fibre contract out had resigned. I was then put back and fourth between departments, multiple visits to the store and seemingly no one knew what was going on. Further escalations to the Greenstone store manager, Marco, lead to them having their courier pick up the modem and SIM card on 2024/12/23. He still claimed that his store was unable to cancel and refund me. I have been debited 7 times for a product that never worked, has had 0 usage and I do not even have possession of. Marco is refusing accountability even though his store is the reason I am in this mess. Bilal Patel, who I presume is the regional manager, has not even rep**** to my emails, EVEN ONCE! My entire family is with Vodacom, each household with phones and home internet. So are the family businesses. We have been for decades. This situation has made me consider having everyone move to a company that actually has a functional operation and is not ***********. They will take out contracts and gladly take your money, but if and when something goes wrong, good luck. I hope whoever is reading this SERIOUSLY RECONSIDERS having any business with Vodacom. Stay away if you enjoy peace and services that actually work.
I have been here for a month this visit, it is my favourite place I have experienced so far. The staff are some of the friendliest and nicest people I have dealt with, the food is great and the atmosphere is amazing. The rooms and hotel are clean, all the services on offer are well worth your time. A big thank you to the whole team for being so accommodating, professional and willing to go the extra mile. Do not shy away from the bar either, Walter makes some of the best drinks under the South African sun.
