We purchased a fridge from Makro over a year ago and noticed that the freezer is iced up all the time and now we cannot open the drawers. We called Makro and they informed us that the fridge is under guarantee and we should call on Defy. We called Defy on the 10 January 2022 Reference number: 1564279 and was informed that a tech would visit our premises in 3 days. On the 3rd day we called on Defy to be informed that a tech would come on Friday the 14th January 2022. No tech called or visited our premises until we called on Clubview Appliance repair which is the company that is outsourced to repair Defy appliances. We were given a sad story of how they were short staff and that the tech would be visiting us on Wednesday 19th January 2022. Douglas the Tech visited our premises on the 19th January and took photos but did no repairs as he had to refer the matter to his manager. On the 21st January we call Clubview Appliance Repairs and spoke to Eska who confirmed that she would speak to the owner and call us back in 30 minutes. We received no call from Eska so we called on the 22nd January and spoke to Hennie the owner who confirmed that Douglas would visit our premises today 24th January 2022 at 8am. We received a sms this morning 24th January 2022 informing us that the photos Douglas took on the 19th January was submitted to Defy for assessment. Called again today spoke to the owner Hennie who informed me that he only got the photos today and they had a power failure over the weekend and he only got to know about our problem on Saturday 22nd Janaury 2022. This is excuse after excuse as Douglas had the photos from Wednesday 19th January 2022 and Eska who arranged the appointment with Douglas knew about our problem from Monday 17th January 2022. To be honest I will not purchase another DEFY product again as there is no after service for the guarantee period of the product. You have to continuously follow up and no one can give you feedback or assist. Please come and fetch your defective product so we can move on and buy from a brand that keeps to the guarantee period and does not steal customers funds and give empty promises.
I love the products and the service is always excellent.
