Fridge disappointed

Good day, I am writing regarding a fridge I purchased from your store around 2022. The appliance developed a fault where it over-freezes at the top and leaks water at the back. A technician was sent out at the time, but unfortunately, the issue was not resolved. After that, I made several attempts to follow up. I sent emails (for which I have proof) and made multiple calls, but I did not receive any response or assistance. Eventually, I had to give up due to the lack of communication from your side. Recently, I reached out again via your Facebook page and finally received a response. However, I am now being told that the fridge is out of warranty and that I should have communicated earlier. I would like to clearly state that I did try to communicate within the relevant time, but my attempts were not acknowledged or addressed. It is unfair for me to be penalized for a lack of response from your side, especially when the issue was reported while the product was still within a reasonable period after purchase. I kindly request that this matter be reviewed, taking into account my previous communication attempts and the unresolved repair. I am asking for a fair resolution, whether that be a proper repair, replacement, or any other suitable assistance. Please let me know how you intend to resolve this matter.

Defy 30l microwave

I have a 30l defy microwave and i wish i had the money to change all my appliances to defy as i have never been so happy with an appliance. It even makes me want to warm my ice cream :)

Wasted Money on DEFY - Defective Product, No Resolution

I purchased a DEFY dishwasher from House and Home Bloemfontein on 16 December 2024, specifically choosing DEFY based on its reputation. That decision has turned into a complete regret. Within 11-months, the dishwasher started failing with an “Error 1” (unable to pump out water). I reported the issue through House and Home and DEFY logged a case (Ref: 16319148). A technician attended and the problem appeared resolved — but only for a short time. The same fault returned, and after a second repair attempt (re-opening the same case), the situation worsened: the unit started leaking and tripping the electricity, posing a clear safety risk. I escalated the matter directly with DEFY (Ref: 16634242) and requested that the unit be properly tested. Their authorised service provider, Electrocorp Bloemfontein, collected the dishwasher on 28 February 2026. After repeated follow-ups, I only received feedback on 16 March — more than two weeks later — stating (via e-mail) that the unit had been repaired, tested multiple times, and had no leaks or errors. The dishwasher was returned to me and installed by Electrocorp staff on 18 March 2026. On the very first cleaning cycle, it leaked again, tripped the electricity, and displayed the exact same “Error 1”. So, after multiple repair attempts, weeks without the appliance, and following every prescribed process, I am back exactly where I started — with a defective product. This is a clear failure to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. The product is not of good quality, not durable, and repeated repair attempts have failed. DEFY has not honoured the imp**** warranty of quality. DEFY’s product quality, authorised service providers, and after-sales service have clearly deteriorated. There has been no effective resolution, no accountability, and no regard for customer inconvenience or safety. I will not buy DEFY again. I strongly advise others to think twice before spending their hard-earned money on a brand that does not stand behind its products.

Defy... No thanks..

They are the very worst appliances. Fridges make so much noise you need to switch them off at night and washing machine filter releases liters of water when you want to clean filter. I will strongly advise everyone to never buy a fridge or washing machine made by defy...

Shame on you Defy & Makro Strubensvalley!!!

Bought a Defy fridge/freezer 350L. After 1 month the fridge did not cool anymore. Technicians came to fix, worked for 3 weeks packed up again. Now the freezer also packed up to the point that we had to switch it off as nothing is cooling anymore. We've been following up daily, threatened to take matter to Hello Peter, emails were apparently escalated?? Still no technician contacted us? Food is going off. We want a replacement!!! Terrible service delivery!!!

Received the best service from Defy

After writing the review that the technician came fixed the machine and did not test the machine after fixing. The same technician came and now my Defy Top Loader machine wash laundry perfectly. Thank you Defy and I would also like to thank Boitumelo Moalusi the Customer Service Agent at Makro for calling everyday to check if the technician did come and fix the machine.

My experience was with a Defy stove when I made a wonderful memory. I remember using the oven to bake a cake for my family. I was excited but also nervous because it was my first time baking on my own. As the cake baked, the warm smell filled the house and everyone gathered in the kitchen. When the cake finally came out perfectly, we shared it together, laughing and enjoying the moment. Defy Fridge bought at Game Pavillion

I bought a Defy frost free Fridge at Game Pavillion on the 7th March 2026, first delivery was made the 9th March and the fridge had a dent, I sent it back with the delivery guys. Another delivery was done on the 10th it did not have any dents and the helper accepted it. When I get home the fridge doesn't look exactly like what I ordered, water dispenser has been changed to black the one I chose at the shop had silver chrome at the dispenser mind you that the chrome design is also added to by the divider/hidden handles. I went back to game with a picture to confirm if I'm crazy and I was not. I was advised that sometimes they do that when they don't have a component like dispenser they put whatever they have but the lady was going to query with defy and come back, till today I had no feedback. I'm not happy with this Fridge how it looks, esthetically not pleasant I wanted that piece I saw and chose to buy it specifically of how it was. I'm very disappointed at Defy brand I wish I went with other brands. I need this to be corrected.
