After replacing my GSP600 earpads FOUR times since purchased in 2018, I have simply had enough. I have had to replace my earpads annually on the GSP600. After the 3rd time I decided to reach out to Sennheiser SA and make an official complaint. Mr James F contacted me personally, and shipped me a complimentary pair of earpads which were designed to last longer. Mr James F openly admitted that the quality of the earpads are not good, and that these new ones would be better. Not even a year later and these pads have pulled loose on both ears. So much for improved build quality. Easy to find similar complaints on the internet about the earpads, just google. A personal friend has also had to replace his GSP600 earpads multiple times. I decided to reach out to Sennheiser SA again to voice my frustration and request that users be supplied the earpads at cost due to the design flaw. No response from Sennheiser at first, after a follow up they got a retailer to quote me R680 excluding shipping, almost double the price of other dealers. After telling the retailer off, Annette Carstens responded to my email, stating that nothing can be done and that is the price as I am not a registered retailer. In essence I told her that its not good enough, and that it is unacceptable that they further try and make money off of a design flaw. Lo and behold, another email from Annette, this time the price is R360 ex VAT and ex Courier costs, still more expensive than what other retailers charge(Sounds Great and Kuro Online). Yes the headset is over 3 years old, but replacing the earpads should not be an annual occurence. Compared to Beyerdynamic where earpads last for years on end. Please stay away from the GSP series headsets. One should not need to replace earpads annually, its not normal. Hence forth I will warn everyone against Sennheiser, once a brand I admired and was proud to support.
