IF PERSONAL SAFETY AND WELL BEING IS A PRIORITY, THEN STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

IF SAFETY AND WELL BEING IS YOUR PRIORITY, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE Disappointed at the treatment and handling of matters at Zebrina Guest House. My partner and I were booked in for three (3) nights from 28.01.2022 to 31.01.2022 and the unfortunate happened. On the first night we had a break in, at around 4 am, while we were asleep, our very pricey personal items were stolen. We only realised that there’s someone in the room only when he was jumping out the window and running away. MIND YOU, THE WINDOWS DO NOT HAVE ANY FORM OF SECURITY, NO BURGLAR BARS NO ALRAM SYSTEM ON THE PREMISISE. We tried to report the incident immediately but when my partner quickly ran to the reception, it was closed. WE TRIED TO FIND HELP THERE WAS NOT EVEN ONE SECURITY GUARD ON THE PREMISES OR SOMEONE MAKING ROUNDS TO ENSURE THAT THE GUESTS ARE SAFE. We had to wait until 7am (when they opened reception) to report the matter. The only thing the receptionist did was look at the CCTV footage, which showed the intruder coming in and targeting only our room, that also made us very suspicious that the staff could be on it too. Furthermore, the receptionist told us to go to the police station to report the matter and assured us that they will replace our stolen items and refund us our money back because we decided to check out. When we got to the police station, they told us the guest house needs to call them and report the break in as this is considered a serious crime. We drove back and told them and the receptionist at the guest house called the police and they will be arriving shortly, she assured us that she will follow up with the police if it happens that they do not arrive. Due to the state of mind that my partner and I were in because of this traumatic experience at this particular guest house we decided to leave and trust what the receptionist said to us. Till this day the police have not arrived and we have no case number. It is how unprofessional they have been when handling this matter. We have been constantly calling them, sending text messages and emails to the guest house and to this day we haven’t received a satisfactory response from the Zebrina Guest House management. We have asked to speak to the owner/manager of this place, a number of times but every time they make up stories that he is unavailable or they can’t give out his number. Till today we haven’t had a conversation with him, we’ve been in conversation with the receptionist the entire time. The last straw was when they sent us a text to inform us that they will not be reimbursing our stolen items which they had assured us that they will. THEREFORE,IF SAFETY IS YOUR NUMBER ONE CONCERN WHEN VISITING A PLACE, THEN I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY AT THE ZEBRINA GUESTHOUSE. IT IS NOT SAFE ALL!!!
