I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the highly unsatisfactory experience my husband and I had when purchasing a vehicle from We Buy Cars Midstream. Before we could collect the vehicle it had to go for a service and replacement of control arms Which was included in our invoice. We initially experienced repeated delays on the day we had to collect the vehicle. During the inspection process, my husband noticed that the locknut was missing. Instead of addressing this concern, the salesperson attempted to rush us into signing the checklist., my husband refused to sign untill they found the locknut as this is something they has to use to replace the control arms we were then advised we have to sign to receive the vehicle. It was later confirmed that the locknut was indeed not in the vehicle, and our car had to be returned to the service centre. While we were waiting—eventually in complete darkness due to the lights being switched off as it is past closing time —we were informed that the oil sensor was faulty and that we would only be able to receive the car the following day. This caused significant inconvenience, as our traded-in vehicle had already been sold, leaving us without transport. We eventually received the vehicle the next day on Saturday afternoon, much later than the time originally confirmed. The following day, the car began making noises from the control arms. We took the vehicle to Tiger Wheel & Tyre, where the technicians advised that the issue could be related to the control arms. They also removed the tires and discovered that they were cracked, not run-flats, and certainly not the 4mm tread depth stated on your inspection report. According to the inspection documentation, the tires were recorded as run-flats with 4mm tread depth and no signs of uneven wear or damage. Tiger Wheel & Tyre confirmed that this was inaccurate. We reported both issues to We Buy Cars: 1.For the control arms I had to visit the workshop myself to have the control arms inspected, the workshop advised that the new control arms is faulty and they would need to replace it again. 2. Regarding the tires, after extensive back-and-forth communication, your staff informed us that you could not assist and advised us to take the matter to the ombudsman. The salesperson has since ignored our messages, and the staff member handling our query has never responded to our replies only when we call him he reacts, I called them today and the lady I spoke to advised me that he does not want to speak to me. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We trusted We Buy Cars to provide transparent, reliable service and accurate inspection reporting. Instead, we have faced inconvenience, safety concerns, and a lack of accountability. I request that Webuycars urgently review this matter and provide a resolution regarding the incorrect tire information and the poor service we received. I expect a written response within seven (7) working days.
