My wife and I collected the vehicle from the dealership mentioned above on Tuesday 27th of September and were sold the vehicle by a lady called Marulette. This was a gray Kia Rio 2020 model. On Saturday the 8th of October as I was off-ramping in the Diepsloot area, the car stalled and the brakes would not work. I tried to start the car again and to brake, to no avail. The car was still in motion at this point. Fortunately, I had slowed down significantly and there wasn't another car in front of me or a pedestrian who was crossing the road. If not for this, there's no telling what would've happened or who I would have harmed, or if I would've been harmed myself. I tried to call Marulette (salesperson)and Wayne but was passively dismissed as they do not work on weekends. My insurance (King Price) was responsive enough to organise someone to come tow the car, the gentleman who drove the truck was Kgabo. My insurance was very helpful. He dropped me off outside the gate of the complex where I stay and then took the truck to Kia Fourways where a thorough diagnosis was conducted on the car. The car was found to have previously been involved in an accident and the engine and radiator need to be completely replaced. I was not told this by the dealership when I collected the car and I would not have taken the car if I knew that it was in such a condition. I spoke to Ms. Kim Darries telephonically from Kia Fourways yesterday and she said to fix the car would cost more than R250 000.00. I am shocked that there are people who would be willing to sell a death-trap, just so they can make a quick buck. I am currently in the process of terminating the procurement of this vehicle. I would not advise anybody to use their services or buy a car there! @kingpriceinsurance @kiamotorssouthafrica
