Compassionate and Thorough Vet

I cannot praise Dr Friede Schwabe and his team enough. Took my cat to another vet a two week prior and was told he has a nasal infection, gave him antibiotics and send us home. Went back to them a few days later and was told my cat is in good health and I must just keep an eye on his weight. I knew something was not right and he regressed badly, so I decided to take him to Uitzicht Vet for a second opinion. Dr Schwabe recommended we do various test and explained every step to me perfectly. Sadly it is lung cancer. He broke the news with such gentleness and compassion while I was sobbing away. He administered a cortisone and antibiotic injection which is definitely helping my cat and even though I know it’s only temporary, I’m so grateful to see him bounce back to his old self again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the kindness Dr Schwabe. A big thank you also to the ladies at reception for the hugs and care and for following up the next day. Dr Schwabe explained the road forward to me, what to look out for to ensure my cat does not suffer and has quality of life. I’ve never experienced so much care and compassion at a vet practice and this will definitely be my vet of choice in the future.
