Not even worth the one star! I had a very disappointing experience at Sona’s Beauty & Laser, largely due to the unprofessional conduct of Avashni. From the moment I interacted with her, she came across as rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in basic customer service skills. Her attitude was not only unwelcoming but also made the entire experience uncomfortable. She’s shallow, unrefined, and completely out of her depth in a role that demands professionalism and awareness. In addition to her poor behavior, she seemed inexperienced and unqualified for the role she was in. There was no effort to communicate clearly, provide reassurance, or make the treatment feel professional. Her overall manner and lack of courtesy were a complete turnoff and left me questioning the standards of this salon. I would not recommend this place based on my experience, and I hope the management takes steps to address the quality of service and staff training. Avashni’s conduct was a total reflection of poor training, poor character, and a complete disregard for the customer experience. It’s astonishing that someone like this is employed in a customer-facing role. AVOID this place at all costs!!! There is nothing relaxing, welcoming, or professional about it — especially if you have the misfortune of dealing with Avashni. I’ve also heard from the nail technicians that Avashni is consistently unprofessional and rude in her interactions with them. This place was a total disappointment—disorganized and chaotic, made worse by Avashni, who was extremely rude and clearly lacks basic customer service skills and professionalism! This business should be shut down!!! Filthy AF! Noleen, who did my eyebrows, was very rough during the threading process—it felt as though she was pulling at my skin rather than just the hair.
POOR POORER POOREST! That is how my customer service experience went with Afristay. Earlier this year I had booked accommodation for my family and I at Regal Inn Ballito, through Afristay and because of the flooding I had to cancel my booking and re-book. So I called both Regal Inn and Afristay and was advised that my booking dates had been changed to suit me accordingly as there was a water shortage problem at Regal Inn. The dates which I had asked for via telecom and email was the 16th - 18th December 2022. Afristay and Valentine from Regal Inn had sent me confirmation for the 16th - 18th December 2023 - which I had only noticed today and as expected they both cannot help me rectify their fault. Luckily one person had answered my call from Afristay today and that was Sophie Delauney (Establishment Support, +27 21 276 0360) who advised me that my request will be dealt with shortly but hey its been over 2 hours and still no feedback or correspondence. It is a time when people most look forward to being in the company of their loved ones and celebrating but hey here I am dealing with endless phone calls and emails that don't get answered and ignored. What a WOW!!!!! I will NEVER ever use Afristays website EVER!!!! Pathetic! And down the drain goes my December holiday. Thank you Regal Inn & Afristay!!!
