I had very terrible experience with this hippo pod hotel.. I booked accommodation through Agoda which directed me to Hippo pod hotel only to find that this is not a hotel is a hostel, no privacy, no parking, you share toilets and bathrooms with strangers. It is not good for couples or families They refused to refund me an amount of R5775 whic h was deducted from my account, they hide behind nonrefundable policy. They canceled my booking saying I didn't pay, when I send them proof of payment they tell me they don't refund. I'm requesting help as I had to look for alternative accommodation which I also paid. My stay in Capetown was just a mess and i tried t talk to Agoda the agent that directed me to that side,, they have also failed to assist me, they want photos from me of the place which I don't have since I don't have access to the rooms of Hippo pod hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone if you need piece of mind for your holiday in Capetown. They're not friendly at all, if they didn't provide service to us, why are they not refunding the client? I wish ombudsman and consumer council can assist me with management of this Hippo pod hotel to recover my money. They are not above the law and they cannot set policies that favours them to take money from us irrespective of their bad service. They don't have parking , even in front of the hotel, the security was going around clamping cars and my husband had to drive around avoiding clamping while I was trying to check in, only to find that the conditions are not good at all.
