I left my jacket in an Uber on Saturday the 15th of March 2026. I contacted Uber and they said they will contact the driver of the car. They then sent me a message saying that the driver acknowledged that he had my jacket. What irks me is that they did not give me an option to collect my jacket but rather reviewed my fare to R132 after adding R90 for returning a lost item to me. My original fare was R42.
I opened a bank account with Absa which has been dormant for a long time and all along having been receiving statements reflecting a zero balance until recently when l got a shock of my life. I received a statement reflecting an accrued total fee of R1486.23 (1 August to 31 August 2025). This is rather ************ and bad ethical business practice. Why is it all along the bank statements were not reflecting any bank fees until recently. It goes on to show that someone was not doing his/her work and recently woke up from some deep slumber and decided to send me such accrued bank fees which were not reflecting from the previous bank statements. This issue needs to be reported to the Ombudsman.
Recently Uber is doing duplicate charges in my credit for the rides l have made in the months of September and October
