On 21/09/2024 at 13h34 a delivery van (Reg nr: DB97ZH GP) ignored a turn only lane, using it to skip to the front of the lane meant for cars going forward in the Horizon View area. The driver continued straight forcing cars rightfully going so out of the way. This reckless and ******* driving is totally unacceptable and whether this driver was late on a delivery or simply impatient, nothing gives them the right to ignore the rules of the road!
I have been with tracker since 2020 since I feel they provide a much-needed service and peace of mind should my vehicle be ****** again. However, referring to the annual price increase for 2024/25, I have to now seriously consider whether Tracker is still worth it. Historically Tracker has increased their subscription prices above inflation, like most businesses, but this year my increase amounts to 11.9%, 2.3 times the current 2024 inflation rate. While the increase in terms of Rand is relatively small the principle of increasing rates by such percentages year-after-year seems aggressive and unnecessary. As a person employed in operations management, I understand that expenses are on the rise for all businesses. However, it would seem that instead of aiming to achieve growth in their company by attracting new customers, Tracker is shifting this burden to its existing client base. This is not a sound strategy since in the short term this will lead to increased income but in the longer term can ultimately lead to more customers leaving, leading to a decline. Overall, I am unsatisfied with the consistent price increases and will now have to strongly consider whether to keep my Tracker since the difference in my current car insurance premiums with and without a tracking device is approaching the subscription fee and therefore it might not be worth the extra expense.
