I just want to send a very BIG THANK YOU to Thobekile and Eastcoast Radio for coming to my aid today. I wrote in last night for a favour. My kids and I went to bed without food. I couldn't send them to school because I didn't want them to leave without breakfast or lunch. I hardly slept thinking what I was going to do. I ended up writing into East Coast Radio's Big Favour a and put my hand up for help. Losing my job as a single mother affected my mental state In a way I can't describe. The final straw was seeing my kids go to bed without food and having to explain that I don't know when we will have again. Thobekile read my story and request and personally delivered groceries for a month to my home in Mariannhill Pinetown. Thank you so much you have no idea how much weight is lifted off my shoulders. I now have to focus on finding a job to be able to pay my son's college tuition for the rest of this year. I wish ECR all the success and 👏 them for having people like Thobekile on their team. Following my review and a response from the standard bank, My complaint has not been resolved. I have not received my credit card, instead the consultant called and blamed the system and said my application was in progress. This is unacceptable. A letter congratulating me for approval of my credit card was emailed along with a contract that I already signed on 16 March 2023 and even chose where my credit card needs to be delivered. *All I am asking for is Standard bank to honour this contract and release my credit as well as have my credit card delivered!
I app**** for a credit card via my standard bank app 3 weeks ago. I was approved and received an acceptance letter which said after uploading a certified payslip on the email link provided, my credit card will be delivered. I have not received my credit card. Standard bank manager called when I emailed a complained, apologised and said the system had a fault. I need to resend documents and for them to redo my application. He also requested my employer details which I provided. I made it clear that I will not be sending any documents as my credit was already approved in writing and I signed the contract and sent a certified copy of my payslip and uploaded as per the acceptance letter instruction via email. All I am waiting for is an sms to pick up my credit card from the standard bank branch I selected! They need to sort out their system so nothing like this happens again as they are blaming the system.
