What a load of **** Mr De Jongh, if the problem that we have faced now on a number of occasions is caused by a previous repair, why is it only now after your company has repaired the car that we have this problem, we have owned the car for 3 years prior to the accident and at no point had a problem with paint peeling off coincidently on the same bumper that you have repaired a number of times. Your assessment photographs will show no area of paint flaking at all except for the area damaged during the accident!
I see another person by the name of Danie has also expressed his dismay with the quality of workmanship with De Jongh's Panelshop in Strand. I have exactly the same complaint, my wife's Audi has been returned to them twice after the car was bumped by a third party while parked on 24 September 2021. They have attempted to respray the front bumper twice and the paint keeps peeling off, they now simply wish to blame a previous repair which they suggest must have happened before we bought the car. In the 4 years that we owned the car at the time of this incident , there was no issue or damage to paintwork as De Jongh's, assessment records would support as the assessor photographed the accident damage in order to finalize their quote. Why have we now had the car returned to them on two occasions since their repair was carried out and now the fault has occurred for the third time which they now want to walk away from. The outcome of this for us now is as follows: 1) I would not advise anybody to have repairs done by these guys, not even to a bicycle. 2) Due to lack of support in this matter, Indwe Risk, my insurance broker and Santam, the underwriter with whom we have been associated for many years, will now lose my business as from end July 2023 as we will sign with an alternative service provider. 3) This matter will be taken to the insurance ombudsman for review. 4) Further publication of this will be advertised on Social Media Platforms.
