I have been with Discovery Medical Aid for over 25 years but was greatly disappointed with the outcome of my stay in hospital from the 19 May to the 31st May 2025. When you fall ill suddenly you expect the medical aid to take care of all your bills including your hospitalization and attending doctors. Unfortunately i was told that the attending doctors are not on the network and will not be paid 100% . I have the doctors hounding me daily for the part payments that were not not covered by the medical aid. What is the purpose of saying hospitalization is 100% when the doctors attending are not fully covered? Even my diagnoses of Primary Bi****y Cholangitis(PBC) chronic meds is not covered by DISCOVERY what is the purpose of such a medical aid? shouldn't they take into consideration the duration I have have been supporting them and analysis the situation before giving a patient more grief to deal with. totally disappointed in the process of looking for a medical aid that covers my needs.

Good morning Nompi Tshabalala Your patience and empathy in dealing with that frustrated customer was outstanding. Your ability to effectively de-escalate a tense situation and turn it into a positive experience for the customer is impressive. Your empathetic approach to the customer's issue was really appreciated. We really should have more people like you working for this type of industry.
Please be advised that this is the worst company to deal with. The owner Sharaaz Amod phoned me after he got my number off Bark. He came to my home gave me a quote for 30000. 00. He called me the same evening advising me that he had a team ready to start the work the next day I agreed. He then removed my existing tiles and rubble and said to me he needed the money to buy the plumbing stuff. I then paid him an amount of 10000. He then came and connected a few pipes for the plumbing and told me he's ready to do the ceiling and he needed more Money for this. I then paid him another 5000 he never returned after that and he didn't take my calls either. He sent me a text message to say he will call me back which he failed to do. I what's app messaged him and he still didn't reply. I had professional people to come assess what work has been done this far and they advised me that he is a *******. Please do not use this person he is most ************* **** and a cheat. I have a video to prove what has been done this far for justification for the money I paid him. I messaged to ask for a refund and a detailed invoice for the stuff he purchased thus far. He sent me and invoice for the 15000 telling me 50 pervent of the job has been done which is totally untru. Please do not use this service provider.
