I would actually give zero stars, because over a month has passed since I ordered an online fashion item from Woolworths. The Courier company said they tried three times to deliver - I was at home so this is not the case - item was returned and order cancelled, without me knowing this. No refund. 8 phone calls, 4 emails and only a social media complaint resulted in any action. I've never had such terrible customer service. The customer support number is worse than useless. I was left holding for 12 mintues the other day at my espense before I hung up. Any attempt at speaking to a manager gets the same response each time that "the manager is in a meeting.' Their offer to call me back results never happens. l'll never use Woolworths online again and they have ruined any brand loyalty I had to Woolworths through their terrible customer support. By the way, the best they can do on delivery is to say between 9am-5pm - that's just not good enough any more!
Excellent local eaterie at Eastlake Island in Marina da Gama, worth a detour for the best bagels and sourdough cooked on the premises and croissants and pastries. My favourite is their eggs benedict on bagel, oh and not to forget the classic smoked salmon and cream cheese. 5km fun run through the Marina da Gama suburb starts here on Thursdays 6pm, drinks and eats afterwards, and "Best burgers in town" on a Friday evening. Family run, friendly and always good quality. It's my local and I love it!
Brett of Pristine Clean in Cape Town allowed his unsupervised staff to clean a mattress and sofa in my rental flat. They removed a rug from beneath a very heavy coffee table and then dragged the table all across a newly sanded and sealed floor making multiple deep scratches all over the main area. Brett eventually apologised and said he'd fix it. Unfortunately they were hollow words. He tried buffing it by hand which was completely unsatisfactyory and wanted to go to back to my flat whenever he felt like it to buff it some more, but I had guests coming so refused him any further entry to the property. I had to get the floor guys back in to re-do most of the floor and they said the scratches were so deep they could never be repaired by hand. Brett refuses to pay the extra R1800 I incurred because of his shoddy work and justifies this by saying I wouldn't allow him re-entry and by blaming the softness of the wooden floors! That's just ridiculous and indicative of his lack of accountability. Don't use Pristine Clean - you could come to regret it as I do. P.S. they left a tide mark on the mattress too, so even the work they were supposed to do was substandard. Don't use Pristine Clean!
