Extremely poor customer service in Umhlanga Toyota. My car broke down on my way back from holiday in Umhlanga, whereafter I directly phoned Umhlanga Toyota. Immediately they said they can’t help on Saturdays!! How reassuring is this that Umhlanga Toyota do not assist customers on Saturdays, when they have a break down. Upon arrival, the service was pathetic to say the least. Well technically there were no service whatsoever. They did not check my car, to be honest, they did not even pull my car into the garage to check, the foreman had a brief look on the driveway of Toyota and said he can not HELP. They refused to assist us to arrange and/or to help with alternative transport. After repairs to my car was done the following week, NO REPORT OF WHAT WAS WRONG (although I have requested a report on numerous occasions), NO ALLEGED DAMAGED PARTS WERE GIVEN BACK. NO EXPLANATION. HEREWITH THEIR FORMAL WRITTEN REPLY: “We are only equipped to do servicing on a Saturday” “Our dealership policy is that old parts should be left in the vehicle at handover, and this should have been offered to you to view.” Please make sure that if you have a breakdown with your Toyota, that it is not on a Saturday and/or that it is not in Umhlunga, because then Totyota refuse to assist their customers on Saturdays and refuse to give back the alleged broken parts. They will only gladly give you a R25 000.00 invoice to pay the next week, there is NO report on the damage of your parts. There are NO ‘old’ parts in the vehicle, as per their policy.
