Dear HelloPeter, I hope this message finds you well. I want to share a serious concern regarding our experience with Absa Bank, which I believe serves as a warning to others considering their services. Earlier this year, I, along with two committee members, was tasked with opening an account for our church at the Absa branch in Durbanville. After following all established procedures, I was appointed as the sole signatory in my role as treasurer. However, on December 4th, I encountered a troubling situation: I was unable to access our banking app. Upon further investigation, I visited the branch only to learn that the banker had unilaterally added other church members to our account for internet banking and removed my access. This decision was made without any communication with me or the other signatories on the account. I promptly reported this issue to Absa's ***** division, but they concluded the investigation, stating that there was no *****ulent activity since the banker assured them that all protocols were followed. Our church is now in a frustrating battle with Absa to understand their process for changing signatories, as their website clearly indicates that both existing and new signatories must be present at the bank with identification. It seems clear to me that if Absa allows such actions by their bankers, they cannot be trusted with our finances. I urge you and others to carefully consider this before proceeding with Absa. My wife and I ate at BOSSA Buhrein on the 19th Oct, we ordered steak and chips that we normally order at any Bossa. We literally received 8 chips each, upon enquiring from the manager we were informed that the portion of chips has been reduced due to head office trying to save on food cost. This is not fair as we are still paying same amount of money for reduced portions.
