I'm still waiting for a written reply ... This was my review privately but as I have not recieved a written reply I am posting this. I'm satisfied with my vehicle and it was clean but a little late. I bought a bakkie with a maintenance plan for the reason that I don't want to spend extra money on services and also I want a warranty. When I arrived I was recommended to clean the injectors as the diesel filter was to be replaced. I am at the mercy of the knowledgeable and would do anything needed to keep the car in top shape; I thought it was included in the maintenance plan. When I was told it would cost an extra amount R1100 I think. I asked if it was absolutely necessary and if it was why was it not included in the maintenance plan. I asked if certain tests could be done to determine if this was necessary, (I'm still waiting for an answer) Also I asked how they were cleaned and I was told they just let them flush for 15 minutes so in my stupidity I thought they run diesel through them for 15 minutes and thought well when the car runs it anyway flushes with Diesel so I said I did not think it was necessary as the engine was running fine. My previous Ford Wildtrak did not need this cleaning at any stage, so I felt as if Ford is trying to milk me for money. When I got home my son said that they flush the injectors with a solvent to clean out the sulphur but said if I ran with the low sulphur diesel I should be ok. I asked Ford what the effect would be if I did not have the injectors cleaned and was told if there were to be a problem with the injectors later they would not fall under warrantee where if they were flushed they would still be under warrantee. Can someone please explain the reason why injectors need to be flushed, why is it recommended and why it's not in the maintenance plan? Also how does this influence my warrantee? I buy Ford because I think it's a quality product at a good price, I just don't want to be disappointed by the behind the scene additional cost of ownership because then next time I will choose another brand. If I had known they pick up the vehicle it would have been great if it was a free service. In the past they had a lot of people booking in the vehicles, we had people attending to you straight away. It seems like they downscaled this operation. Then when they say the vehicle will be ready at 3, you have to decide whether to fetch the vehicle or go to a 3:30 appointment 1st, during the day you chat on the phone and they say they will chase it up for you and you arrive at 3 and they are still busy. It's disappointing.
I have been going there since 1987, I have never considered another option because the service is incredible, all the staff bend over backwards to help, the product at the end is proffesional. Well Done team. Gary Stone
