Recently, I had the opportunity to work at iPic Play for about a week, and while there were some positive aspects, I couldn't help but notice certain concerns that I believe are worth sharing. Firstly, there appears to be a lack of consistency in enforcing uniform policies. I observed instances where colleagues were allowed to wear non-standard shirts (brown and blue) if they put on the company bibs. However, when I wore a black t-shirt with a bit of white stripes, I was confronted by a specific manager who seemed perturbed by my choice of attire. I was then asked to go home. This interaction left me feeling singled out, especially considering that others faced no consequences for similar deviations. I decided to never return to iPic Play because I was told to leave for wearing a black and white t-shirt, even though I had a bib on that covered it. This incident, which seemed arbitrary and inconsistent with the company's flexible uniform policies, was the final factor that led to my decision to leave. This inequitable treatment raises questions about fairness and professionalism within the workplace. Addressing the uniform issue with the manager was met with what I perceived as a lack of awareness about available sizes. As a manager who walks around head held high as if he owns the place, I expected a more comprehensive understanding of inventory and employee needs. Talking to fellow employees confirmed that I was not alone in my experience with this manager. It seems that others have also encountered issues and, upon sharing my decision not to return due to the manager's conduct, their lack of surprise when I mentioned the manager's name indicated a broader concern with the management approach. Many employees, myself included, faced significant expenses, particularly those relying on multiple taxis to reach work. This mismatch between the effort put in by staff and the unkind behavior from certain managers says a lot about who iPic Play allows to manage and represent their company. Ending off, a fun coach is supposed to create a happy environment for the children but how is that possible when management creates an unhappy environment? The reason for this review is to shed light on the importance of fair and respectful treatment, especially in roles where fun coaches interact closely with customers being responsible for children's enjoyment. Parents investing in experiences for their children deserve assurance that management treats the staff fostering a positive environment correctly. While I acknowledge that individual experiences may vary, I hope that sharing my perspective will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the work environment at iPic Play.
