I had the displeasure of getting through to Marcel Corner of Absa. It was by far the worst customer experience of my life. I had been a loyal customer since 2005, but am considering removing all my investments and all acounts from Absa. This person sighed when she picked up the phone. She was audibly irritated and even said that Absa wouldnt want my business anymore. Any customer relations executive can access my phone call that was made on 2024-07-19 at around 10:13 with Marcel at the investments line. I was even told to keep quiet so she could at least explain why Absa needed to help me in my exceptional circumstance to "cover their side". She made me feel like a bumbling idiot. When a power of attorney (my wife) was discovered on my account I could not recall it immediately. She told me in a sarcastic tone "this is how you answer me when I ask you a question". I am extremely angry at this tripe of a treatment and am willing to go and explore my legal options. Surely ABSA can do better But at least I know not to invest another cent.
Took my dog there for an emergency. First thing the vet says "Lets talk money". No attempt to even discuss the actual emergency. NO empathy from the vet or the assistant. In fact she made it abundantly clear that we were bothering them.When we enquired about her prognosis she said "come back in an hour" I was phoned and told "Its hopeless. Come say goodbye" When we were saying our goodbyes both the assistant and the vet were visibly irritated and just wanted us out of there. I will NEVER go back there again. These people only care about how much they can fleece you. If you love your pet STAY AWAY.
