I'm writing this review as a warning to others after a very bad dining experience at Fireroom, Castle Gate that left us severe stomach cramps and diarrhea for 24-48 hours. Despite its upscale reputation, the food served was clearly not handled or prepared with the care one would expect from a high-end establishment. The symptoms started hours after our meal, and what followed was a night of intense discomfort. Given the timing, it's evident that the food was the culprit. All of us got sick. This is unacceptable, especially considering the prices and the expectation of quality that comes with dining at such a restaurant. To make matters worse, when I contacted the manager to report the incident and express our concerns, I was met with empty promises. He (Shaun) assured me he would get back to me, but I've yet to hear from him, even after I went to the Restaurant to speak to him in person. It's disappointing that a restaurant of this caliber fails not only in its food safety but also in customer care. We hope the management takes immediate action to review their food safety protocols and improve their communication with regular customers.
The moment you pay the deposit, the excuses begin. I chose Afriworld because they could help me the fastest... or so I thought. As soon as they receive your deposit, they inform you that "their sister company namely Intertrans Movers will do the removal on their behalf. You have no say in the matter, otherwise you lose your deposit! Of course, the date you agreed is then no longer available, because Intertrans must now fill their truck. As soon as you complain about the agreed date, Gerhard from Afriworld offers to get it to the Cape faster for an extra amount! Fool me once... The furniture did arrive 9 days after the agreed date. Overall bad experience, I do not recommend them at all. Please also read all the other 1 star reviews.
