Well done SANTAM, my experience in obtaining a motor and building insurance quote was a pleasure, so far from the usual "Call-Centre" responses one gets theses days. The agent dealing with me was Praise, he thoroughly dealt with all my queries, on an unusual factor for the building insurance he politely requested I hold while he confirmed details with his supervisor, showed a very professional approach. On the arranged callback day and time Praise called back, a somewhat unusual experience in South Africa! SANTAM have certainly got a professional client interface, let me hope it is the same should I have any claims in future as with little hesitation, I took up the policy.

When I phoned to enquire if the Defy 8kg Tumble Drier was available in stock: First blatant lie – I was told that it was available “in stock” 2. On the 3rd working day I enquired through their “Online chat” why the order still indicated “Processing” Second blatant lie: I was assured delivery would be in 2 days time 4. On day of promised delivery, no response to my Online chat query when it hadn’t arrived by late afternoon 5. Following day on further Online chat query Third blatant lie: Delivery promised for the following day Fourth blatant lie: I was told because the delivery “is handled by our in-house team” there is no waybill or tracking number Fifth blatant lie: “You will receive a confirmation via SMS and our dispatch team shortly” 6. On of day of new promised delivery response to my query that I had not received promised sms or email confirming delivery: Sixth blatant lie: “Your delivery is scheduled for today before close of business” Repeated phone attempts (X6) between 16:30-16:51 rang, gave the three options but the calls were then dropped after approx. 35 seconds regardless of option chosen. Online chat message was ignored. 7. During following 2 days a further 5 attempted phone calls were “dropped” Finally an Online chat message of mine requesting cancellation of order and refund was responded to “your order is still delayed … rescheduled for delivery” in 2 days time “or if you prefer to process a refund” 8. To process the refund I had to email my banking details to their sales email address I had to push on Online chat for confirmation of receipt of my email, was then informed that the refund would take 1 to 3 business days to process. Happy ending, refund was received in my bank account on the second day, just one day before I handed the case over to The National Consumer Commission. All the relevant documents and record of communications were all prepared. I will definitely be sticking to the more reputable online suppliers from now on and if I need to go elsewhere I will be thoroughly checking HELLO PETER reviews.</div>
