I have been buying my boards at Builders Warehouse since 2016, note that I am a DIY and not a professional carpenter. Work out your cutting list, hand it to them and they do the rest up to the edging. I have made desks and cupboards which are still standing. My last order was done in February 2026, the gentleman at the board shop of Builders Warehouse Tygerberg contacted me about the edging. The machine was broken and asked if I would accept normal edging. I said, no I would prefer to wait till the machine was fixed as this was for kitchen cupboards. Eventually all the wood was delivered Friday 27 Feb, on inspection that evening there was wood that was sized incorrectly, edging that was peeling off, edging that was not done, masonite board that was not delivered......just terrible. Saturday morning I contacted the Sales Manager at BW Tygerberg and he offed to send a truck to collect the wood. I said thanks, but took it back myself. Sunday 01 March 2026 I went and fetched the wood again (after it was re-edged (compact edging supposedly) Tuesday 03 March 2026 after assembling the carcass I took out the top to fit it. Luckily for me I had requested for the top to be cut. There were deep scratches running right down the top from end to end, so when I put the cut pieces together, you could see those scratches were there before they were machine cut in the board shop. The edging on all the boards I had taken in to be re-edged (Compact Edging) the Saturday was coming undone. I sent a video to the Sales Manager at BW Tygerberg, he was extremely helpful as always and explained to me that the board shop is outsourced to Home Concepts and not run by BW and he would get the Regional Manager, Gresswil to contact me. Gresswil contacted me the next day and arranged for a new top to be delivered to me. He also explained that the machinery was so old at the Tygerberg branch and that I (THE CUSTOMER WHO HAS ALREADY PREVIOUSLY RETURNED IT AND FETCHED IT AGAIN) would need to take my drawers and draw-fronts to the Hassendal branch. After a lot of back and forth, he collected the doors at my house 10 March 2026 to have it re-edged at the Haasendal branch which opened in 2025. More back and forth between myself and Gresswill and eventually he delivers the doors to my house 16 March 2026. I returned home that evening to receive a message from my adult daughter, " Mom the guy that delivered the wood said that was the best that they could edge the wood cause the machinery at the store is old. IS THAT NOT THE MAIN REASON HE TOOK IT TO HAADENDAL - BECAUSE THE MACHINERY AT TYGERBERG IS OLD!!!!! He packed the doors in my lounge and that is where it stayed until 28 March 2026. Needless to say terrible work, doors can not be used. And they (your company tells me it is water damage) If you can show me how that would get damaged the one lounge area that no-one sits in, then fine There is no leak in my house, there was no substantial rain to speak of. Those boards were laying at the board shop for 7 days, just for edging. If your board shop can deliver a damaged top to me, your Regional Manager delivered damaged doors to my door.
