I have mistakenly paid R18371 to the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Research & Innovation Account on the 12th of June 2025 and I still have not received my refund to date even after mentioning this affecting my debit orders for the month. The Assistant Accountant, Ms Maserame Mamaseli does not reply to me emails or give me a timeline of when she's refunding me.
Good day Hellopeter Community, I trust you are all keeping well! I have a problem with the Vaal University of Technology Staff & Management as they seem to have adopted a bad culture of not responding to emails and queries within the required Service Level Agreements (SLAs) leaving issues unresolved. They seem to be neglecting students needs and this has a huge impact on academic performance, resulting in students debts and high drop out rate while they continue to make profits with no research output at the end of the academic year. I have logged a Student Accommodation Claim query with the Bursary Office sometime last month and the staff (Confidence Sebueng, Mahadi Mo***eng & Sipapa) there, and they are no longer responding to my emails whenever I follow up to find out when am I getting my refund. They don’t even pick up their landline phone calls even though they do ring. I would understand if they at least gave me timelines, but they just go quiet and I have to follow up with them almost everyday which is emotionally exhausting, costly and time consuming. Could you please kindly assist me in getting my refund ASAP as I really need to purchase textbooks and pay off outstanding debt due? Your assistance is truly appreciated.
