Good day, I was in the market for a new pair of wading boots, I found a pair marked down from R2300 to R999 on Xplorer Fly fishing website. I was monitoring it for over a week and was waiting to get paid. Pay day came and I did the online purchase through Xplorer webpage included the courier cost and was forwarded to 'PAYFAST' where I made a payment of R1119. Following day I receive a mail from an Xplorer representative stating that they are baffled as to why the website allowed the sale as there is no stock and discontinued ages ago and the next bet is another pair of boots which cost R3750 and if not they could refund me. I told them I was not willing to pay the price of R3750 and a refund would have to do. I also mentioned that they will have to sort out their website. I would have left it there if the Xplorer representative never mailed me again, stating that the R999 was 5 yrs ago prices (why was it on your website in the week then?) and if they had to import them they would cost R3000 and stating to me that "so you not going to find a wading boot at that price again" and that the refund will be processed. I did a little research comparing to other flyfishing suppliers similar boot in the same make sell between R2200 to R2750. Reels on their site selling at R1100 only with Xplorer logo sell for R750 at other suppliers for the exact same reel. Xplorer is over priced. If there was some sort of better customer relation and compensation or something, special offer or something as the mistake was on their side and site. So yes do your research.
