Recently FNB had to start with FICA registrations for their customers. I was sent 2 emails a few months ago to FICA. I had to email personal information to "FICA" my account. I ignored these mails as I get reminded every time I log into my account that FNB will not ask you to send personal information etc. My account got frozen about 2 weeks back and the reply from the bank was that it was communicated and it was sent on the APP that this will happen. I missed the message on the APP and then the account got frozen. So the above mentioned was frustrating enough to get to pay things and could not make payment. I sent the mail with the personal info as requested and I went into the bank to provide all my information again. Information required was my ID, payslips and proof of residence. Even though my ID does not change from 5 years back when I bought the house through FNB which was stated as my primary residence and they still require proof of residence from the home they are financing. (Not sure why I need a payslip when the company pays my salary into my account). So all of this was sorted after a visit to the branch one Saturday morning. Yesterday I tried to transfer money out of my home loan that I paid in excess and the app states the service is unavailable which should be a 24/7 service. After communication with FNB they said I did not FICA at the home loan team and that this is a different department and the required documents is now a self certification form. This was not mentioned with the previous FICA and I asked the person at the branch if anything is outstanding. I also checked at the "My to do List" and it states - You have no outstanding tasks. I am so frustrated with the resent service from FNB and the lack of personal interactions with your clients. The money we entrust with you is hard earned money and no matter how much it is, service your clients!
