I got the distinct impression that the doctors at this hospital are profit driven. I went to casualty for severe vomiting on Monday morning. The casualty staff were good. Nursing staff in the ward were okay, but the doctors give the impression that they are ultimately profit driven. Although the sonar & X-rays showed all good, the male surgeon just wanted to go in scalpels blazing to "have a look what's going on". I told him "Hell no". I'd never consulted with this surgeon before & he just wanted to start slicing away like I was a Sunday roast. Not too impressed with Dr Goldswain either. I'd also never consulted with this doctor either. They both just wanted to do all sorts of very expensive tests. Goldswain eventually realised none of this was happening & relented to a simple blood test. The beds are antiquainted, toilet seat in the bathroom was loose so sitting on the loo was an "adventure" to say the least. The chef also needs intense culinary training. This place won't be seeing me again anytime soon. I'll be telling my GP whose been my doctor for 23 years about the shambolic experience.
Always excellent service and food is great
When I joined Medshield 11 years ago they offered amazing cover for very affordable premiums. Sadly their offerings have deteriorated while their premiums have skyrocketed. We were on their top level during Covid. By then they had started limiting what hospitals members could use to Netcare. Netcare facilities nursing care in general medical wards is shocking. The only difference between the care given at Mulbarton and a provincial facility was that the ward at Mulbarton was marginally cleaner. The doctor assigned to him at the Union was so arrogant she refused to speak to me. Between the incompetence and arrogance of Dr Dlakane and Netcare hospitals they killed my husband.
