I got into car accident on 13/11/2025. I reported it to Prime immediately and submitted all the supporting documents in time. I paid the full excess fee almost immediately after they sent me the payment details to ensure that the repairs commence as soon as possible. The panel beaters who they chose (I was not given any options), Nu Wagon Autobody, said that the repairs would be completed within 7-10 working days Last week, 15 working days later, they were sending communication stating that the car was in assembly and should be completed by 05/12/2025. I went there physically on 04/12/2025 just to find that my car had not even been painted yet, which they had claimed to do the week before. The workshop manager refused to take any accountability for the misleading information and could not give a straight answer for any of the questions I had for him. He could not even give an exact date for when the car would be ready, he just kept saying next week. The conversation concluded with him saying “I don’t know what you expect me to do.” His attitude was also unacceptable I phoned Prime and spoke to the assessor handling my case (his name is Frans) and he was honestly useless. He claimed that they had never had issues with these panel beaters before but their reviews are full of clients leaving the same complaints. Frans also stated that he would phone “CJ” from Nu Wagon and get back to me the following day. When I called the next day, he was not in, and had not bothered to contact CJ. I’m honestly disappointed that Prime would continue to work with such a company and choose to put their clients through this kind of stress over and over again. I’m dissatisfied with how they’ve been handling this case and they refuse to help me with a courtesy car, even in the face of such unnecessary delays as the damage to my vehicle was minor. They show no concern for how my every day life and safety has been affected as a young woman living in South Africa. I would not recommend Prime as an insurer, not even to my worst enemy.
This business is dishonest. They give false information on the progress of your vehicle and when you go there physically, they try to pin it on their system. The workshop manager takes no accountability and the level of incompetency is appalling
The consultant I spoke to, Mr Xolani Zwane, was very polite over the phone. He was very patient and answered all my questions as he was providing me with the information I needed
He gave me a good breakdown of the cover over the phone and was able to answer all my questions with a good attitude
