I had a membership at the Gym COmpany in Jacaranda Centre (Pretoria), which I cancelled due to finances. However, they continued to deduct money from bank. I even went to them personally on two occasions, sent 100's of e-mails, filled in forms, etc. to ensure that they remove me from their system. Now, again, they harrass me with e-mails, and even deducted after a year of cancellation, money from my account. I am not sure who to contact anymore, as I tried so many pathways. They even took my cancellation from that I filled in at the Gym, scanned it in and sent it to their HQ, but still, they continue to deduct money and continuously harrass me. I am so fed-up of this incompetence in their system. REMOVE ME>
I cancelled my membership in March 2024, due tot he fact that I haven't used their services in a few months and I cannot afford the membership anymore. They still deducted the full amount plus extra from my account, after I stated I do not have the money to pay them. Still, they do not care. I reversed everything, called them back and stated again that I cancelled and do not have the finances to pay. I tried to make an arrangement, but according to the lady I spoke with, they cannot make arrangements. I can however make arrangement with the third party...which is the debt collectors. Well, this also could not happen, because they did not hand me over to the debt collectors and therefore I cannot make payment arrangements. I tried to make arrangements again, but again, they do not have the 'authority' to make any arrangements. But, they do have the authority to take money from my personal bank account, after I cancelled (meaning I am not a member anymore), but they cannot make arrangements. How does this work, if they cannot make arrangements for me to pay the cancellation fee off, then how can they just take my hard earned money. There are laws against these things. I have the right to cancel a contract and have the right to make arrangements that will suit my pocket. I also have the right to cancel a debit order verbally...as I stated on one of their recorded calls (more than once), I do not give them authority to take money from my personal account anymore. But, I am talking to a brick wall. I refuse to give them a cent, and I am taking the 8 other people which I referred to them also away. I will refer another gym and they will also cancel. They are loosing customers as there are no customer services or empathy. If they only made easier suggestions to me, to accommodate me, I would have thought about staying (and letting my family stay), but they are losing 9 people now. I will never suggest planet fitness to anyone ever again.
