I stayed at this B&B on two separate occasions, once before I went overseas and again.when I returned. I don't really believe in bad mouthing but having read some of the reviews I am going to add to them as my bad experience was similar. On the first stay the owners agreed to a discount as I didn't need a cooked breakfast everyday. The stay was good, however connectivity was a problem. I had to sort it out myself. The owners did like their tipple in the evening and I joined them willingly initially although it became expected and I had to politely decide. The second stay I wasn't sure how long I would stay but eventually discussed with Simon that I would pay as before weekly. I the end I ended up paying a monthly and weekly rate. They the me out with ziggy physically pushing me staying get out and 'I know what you were when you first came here and calling me names. Ziggy and Simon got drunk every night and then Ziggy proceeded to be abusive to Simon. I accepted a dinner invitation one night 'such that it was, and against my better judgement. It was absolutely awful and I could wait to get out of there. Truly awful experience.
Until recently, i have had over a period of many years a good relationship with bookstores who buy and sell good quality used books. I have bought and sold back many books over the years. I delivered two supermarket trolleys of books to Lettle Mahlangu in Lonehill in May. She told me she could only take the childrens books and a few novels. For these books she paid me R120. I was in the shop again recently and discovered that the 'worthless' books she had given charity were on the shelves. There wasn't one book priced under R250. Amongst the assortment I delivered were Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver cookbooks, coffee table books, various subjects. Amongst the childrens books, a Beatrix Potter collection of miniatures for which I received R20. They are priced on the shelf for R250. There was also a Winnie the Pooh miniature collectable for which I was paid R20. The balance I.e R80 was for a handful of novels each at R10. Reading the reviews about this particular store, this is not a once off experience amongst patrons and it's a brazen dishonest business practice.
