I wish I had read all the reviews on Hello Peter before booking through rentalcars.com / booking.com. They booked me a same-day car rental through Alamo in the USA, only to find when I got to the Alamo rental counter that Alamo doesn't do same-day car rentals, and didn't have any stock available. Why does rentalcars.com book me this car when Alamo doesn't have the car available? This seems dishonest to me. When trying to claim a refund, they were entirely unhelpful, telling me that it appeared to them that I had picked up the car. You would think they would ask Alamo whether this is indeed the case but, no, this is seemingly too difficult for them to do. Instead, I am left stuck in-between them and Alamo. So, lesson learnt for me, I will rather go direct through a car rental company.
As with others below, I have had enormous difficulty canceling my Virgin Active membership, and disputing an amount they claim I own. I have phoned them at several points to assess this, but no one is able to assist. I have requested on several occasions to listen to my phone call recording in which I cancelled my account originally but, even after promising to get back to you once listening to the call or escalating the matter, you hear nothing back. You then assume the matter is resolved, only to receive a collection SMS three months later, and you are thrown back into the same useless loop.
