Disappointed by iStore Brooklyn Mall >R30k Quote for a Fixable iPhone14 Pro Max
I had an extremely disappointing experience at the iStore in Brooklyn Mall. After my iPhone 14 Pro Max fell and the screen cracked, it began restarting every 3 minutes. I brought it in for repair and was told by the iOS technician, Mr Abubaker, that the phone had multiple component failures, was not repairable, and that the only solution was a full unit replacement at a shocking cost of R30,743.28. Even worse, I was told there was no way to back up my WhatsApp or recover my data. Thankfully, I took a chance and went to another repair company. They fully repaired the phone (no replacement needed), and I was even able to successfully update my WhatsApp backup, all for a third of the price. I am deeply disappointed by the iStore's approach: ❌ Misleading and inaccurate diagnosis ❌ No effort to recover important data ❌ An unreasonably high quote ❌ Declaring a repairable device “beyond repair” This kind of service undermines trust in Apple’s official repair channels. I hope this complaint leads to greater accountability, transparency and proper diagnostics in the future.

Incredible Service by Audrey at The Real Repair Company – The Grove Mall, Pretoria!
My iPhone 14 Pro Max suffered a nasty fall, shattered glass and a frustrating issue where it kept switching off every 3 minutes. I first took it to an official Apple repair centre, where I was quoted over R30,000 for the repair, with no guarantee of recovering my WhatsApp data or even backing it up. Desperate for another solution, I went to The Real Repair Company at Grove Mall, where I met Audrey. She didn’t overpromise, she simply said she’d take a look and see what could be done. Her honesty and calm confidence already gave me hope. To my absolute delight and surprise, Audrey worked her magic. Not only did she repair my phone to perfect working condition, but I was also able to update and back up my WhatsApp, something Apple Repair told me was impossible. Audrey is professional, highly skilled and goes above and beyond for her customers. She saved me thousands of rands and, more importantly, saved my data and peace of mind.
