Unfortunately I am complaining about Sanlam's service again. I requested my Pension Fund to be paid out and was advised by the broker that I will receive payment within 2 weeks. Today I was advised I will only receive payment on 9 July. For specific reasons I cannot wait another 2 weeks for payment to be done. I am very disappointed in Sanlam. When I paid out retirement claims, we paid pensioners out in maximum 4 to 5 days as a pensioner needs their money. I am not understanding why this cannot be done once you receive the tax directive. Why the hold up and delay.
I'm not a happy client and I'm surprised at Sanlam's bad service. I app**** for a 2-pot benefit on 6 September 2024 and was advised that I should receive payment by 30 September 2024. To date I have not received anything. I understand that we are all busy with the 2-pot applications (I work for an insurance company myself). I tried to contact them telephonically but had to listen to a robotic voice for nearly 10 minutes. I sent an email on 01 October 2024 to customer services advising that I want to escalate the matter. I attached the application form and the relevant details. On 2 October my email was forwarded to GeneralLife Sanlam. On 03 October I sent a WhatsApp. Once again chatting to an AI☹️ asking for an employee number. I don't have an employee number! I was advised by the financial advisor that someone is busy with 'my batch' but no timeline as to when I will be paid ☹️. Whilst I appreciate the advisor's help, it still does not solve the issue that I have not been paid. I need payment to be done urgently. I have an investment/RA with Sanlam and am rethinking as to whether I should leave it with Sanlam. I just want the money to be paid as promised as I cannot wait another 20-working days. I need the money urgently for a reason.
