We recently had an absolutely incredible experience at Sunder Computers in Tygervalley Cape Town. My quest for a new laptop, primarily for online ESL teaching, was extensive. My requirements were non-negotiable: a professional-grade machine with an excellent speaker setup, minimum 16GB RAM, and a minimum 512GB SSD, all in a 16-inch, 16:10 screen ratio chassis. Despite searching far and wide, new and refurbished, nothing quite met the mark until I returned to Sunder Computers just before the Black Friday rush. The Unbeatable Deal: A Professional Powerhouse Jethro, the owner, presented an opportunity that was simply too good to pass up: a brand new, commercial-grade Lenovo ThinkPad L16 Gen 1 which was "shop-soiled" due to a slight cosmetic bump on the casing—a minor flaw that secured a massive discount. This machine already boasted the key professional features I needed: • Storage: A blazing-fast 1TB NVMe SSD (exceeding my initial 512GB requirement). • Professional Audio: Integrated Dolby Voice® for superior noise suppression and clear teaching calls. • Display: The crucial 16-inch, 16:10 WUXGA (1920 \times 1200) screen. • Processor: The latest Intel Core Ultra 5 chip with a dedicated AI engine (NPU). The only concern I had was the 16GB RAM. Jethro resolved this instantly, offering to upgrade the RAM to 32GB DDR5 on the spot, at no extra cost, while I waited! The final deal we received was astounding for R14,499: • Upgraded to 32GB RAM: Essential for future-proofing and high-demand online teaching. • Premium Warranty: The laptop carried a Lenovo warranty until July 7, 2028—which is over 3 years of remaining manufacturer warranty coverage, a multi-year, premium guarantee of quality. • Added Value: Jethro also included a laptop backpack, a wireless mouse, and a lovely "Sally Anne" nougat treat! Well a few years ag...
Well a few years ago, I bought a cordless hair straightener/curler...it took babybliss gas cartridges. It really was very useful, until the store stopped supplying the gas cartridges and I had to get them online.. which I did. Now for the past two years or so, they don't have them in stock apparently, Clicks had a 'thing' with the supplier. So now, I sit with a useless hair accessory and have more vad hair days than I care to remember. This presents Clucks in a very bad image! I am reluctant to purchase anything similar from Clicks.
