I got gifted the gold plated charm bracelet for my birthday on the 23rd of june 2024. After only a few months of wearing it I started to notice the that gold plating was coming off on both ends of the bracelet. For clarity: I look after my jewellery extremely well. I do not shower or even wash my face with my jewellery on. I never spray perfume onto my bracelets or necklaces. In fact I hardly ever wear perfume. All of my other bracelets that I wear that are gold plated have no issues at all and I have owned them for years longer than this charm bracelet. I am well within the warranty period and was given confirmation that I could get it repaired free of charge. I then get a phone call from Thomas Sabo Sandton claiming that head office says I must have gotten some sort of chemical on the bracelet and that is why the plating has come off. They refused to fix it and are now offering me the lucky opportunity of repurchasing the bracelet at a discounted price. Since these issues have arose within 6 months of purchase and my father is a lawyer I am fully aware that I am protected under the consumer protection act. If I do not get a brand new replacement of the exact same bracelet I purchased I will be taking legal action. Your faulty product will not be made my problem.
